Travel Recovery Studio: Doha Hamad’s new well-being experience for passengers in transit

Discover the Doha Hamad Travel Recovery Studio: a free wellness service for passengers in transit, in the heart of the ORCHARD garden.

Hamad International Airport never ceases to surprise its travelers. After having multiplied its feats in terms of comfort and premium services, the Qatari platform unveils a new experience designed especially for those making a stopover: the Travel Recovery Studio, also called “Vitality and Wellness Studio”.

A well-being break in the heart of an indoor jungle

Installed in the ORCHARD area, in Hall C, this new service offers connecting passengers the opportunity to relax and regain strength between two flights, free of charge. Each guided session lasts 20 minutes and combines breathing exercises, gentle stretching and movements, supervised by professional coaches, and practiced on recovery mats with red light therapy, a warm, subdued light supposed to promote relaxation. The stated objective with this initiative is simple: to help travelers release accumulated tension, find true physical comfort and board their next flight with peace of mind.

The location where this fun and relaxing activity takes place is no coincidence. The experience takes place in the 6,000 m² ORCHARD indoor tropical garden, which houses more than 300 trees and 35,000 plants from around the world. Imagine: practicing breathing exercises surrounded by foliage, ponds and water lilies, just a few meters from a boarding gate. This is precisely the atmosphere that Hamad International has wanted to create since the opening of this garden in 2022, which has since become one of the most emblematic spaces of the airport, combining nature, art, restaurants and luxury boutiques. We even come across bronze sculptures from the Wildlife Wonderscapes collection by artists Gillie and Marc, a stone’s throw from the Qatar Airways lounges and the Dior Spa.

How to benefit from it?

Access to the Travel Recovery Studio is reserved for passengers aged 18 and over, subject to availability, the airport does not communicate a precise quota, access is simply based on current capacity. The sessions take place from Sunday to Thursday, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and the operation continues from September 6 to October 25.

Stopovers worth the detour

For many travelers, Doha is just a crossing point between two continents, but a crossing point that has all the makings of a destination in its own right. This is the case, for example, for flights connecting Europe to South-East Asia or Australia: a Paris-Bali, a London-Sydney or a Geneva-Singapore very often pass through Hamad International, with stopovers that can last from two to several hours. Likewise, connections between the Americas and Asia or East Africa frequently pass through the Qatari hub, a New York-Nairobi or a Miami-Maldives, for example. So many journeys where, from now on, a stopover in Doha can also rhyme with a real moment of recovery, far from the usual stress of the departure lounges.
