Qatar Airways returns to Syria after a long absence
After a 13-year absence due to the deteriorating security situation in Syria caused by the civil war, Turkish Airlines announces its return to the skies of the West Asian country.
The Qatari national airline’s schedule now includes three weekly flights, serving between its Doha Hamad International Airport and Damascus Aleppo International Airport.
“For the time being, there will be three flights per week, with additional flights gradually being added to Damascus Airport,” the Qatari airline said in a statement.
Damascus has always been a popular destination for millions of travelers. A clientele of businessmen, at a time of excitement when many travelers of different nationalities are coming to explore Syria, followed by a growing number of tourists visiting the country.
