Qatar Airways: Additional flights between Doha and London this winter

Qatar Airways has unveiled its flight schedule for the upcoming 2026/2027 winter season. The new schedule includes a significant boost to its international Doha–London Heathrow route.

Seven additional flights added to the schedule

Starting October 25, Qatar Airways will increase service to London Heathrow from 49 to 56 weekly flights, representing a capacity increase of approximately 11%. In total, the Qatari national carrier will operate an average of eight daily round-trip flights, supplemented by a daily codeshare flight operated by British Airways, its Oneworld alliance partner.

Bookings now open

Bookings for the Doha–London flight are now available via the official Qatar Airways website and mobile app, for both standard paid tickets and award tickets redeemed with Avios.

What budget should you plan for a ticket to London?

Airfare prices offered by Qatar Airways for travel between Doha and London Heathrow vary significantly depending on the booking period, availability, and seasonality. As a guide, the price of a round-trip economy class ticket generally ranges from £430 (2100 QAR) to £775 (3800 QAR) while a business class ticket costs between £2600 (12800 QAR) and £4750 (23400 QAR) depending on the time of travel.

For first class, available only on flights operated by the A380, the fare often exceeds £5150 (25300 QAR). These figures are merely indicative; prices fluctuate based on demand, how far in advance the booking is made, and any special promotions offered by the airline.

Aircraft deployed on the Doha–London route

On this route, passengers can fly aboard the iconic Airbus A380, the only aircraft in the Qatar Airways fleet to offer three distinct cabins: First Class, Business Class (featuring Qsuite in part of the cabin configuration), and Economy Class.

Some flights are operated using Boeing 777s and Airbus A350s, both of which feature Qsuite in Business Class.

High-speed Wi-Fi connectivity

All Qatar Airways aircraft deployed on the DOH–LHR route are equipped with SpaceX’s Starlink Wi-Fi technology, offering free access to all passengers.

 

Access to Qatar Airways Lounges at Doha-Hamad

Doha’s Hamad International Airport, the main hub for Qatar Airways, features an extensive network of lounges; however, access depends on both the booking class and the passenger’s status within the Privilege Club:

First Class passengers have access to the Al Safwa Lounge, considered the airport’s most prestigious. Privilege Club Platinum members also have access to this lounge when traveling in Business Class from Doha.

Business Class passengers (excluding Business Lite fares) are welcomed at the Al Mourjan Lounge.

Privilege Club Silver, Gold, and Platinum members traveling in Economy Class have access to lounges dedicated to their specific status level (Silver, Gold, or Platinum lounges) which are separate from the lounges reserved for premium classes.

Please note that there are some variations in access rules depending on whether a passenger has been upgraded, is traveling on a Lite fare, or holds equivalent status with another oneworld member airline.

 

Passenger baggage allowance

How much baggage are passengers on the Doha–London Heathrow flight entitled to? This depends primarily on the booking class and the status held in the Privilege Club loyalty program.

Checked baggage:

Included with all Qatar Airways tickets, with allowances that typically increase from Economy Class to First Class. Depending on their status, Privilege Club members also enjoy a significant additional allowance:

Silver status: 20 kg extra allowance, or one additional piece of baggage, depending on the route.
Gold status: 25 kg extra, or two additional pieces of baggage, depending on the route.
Platinum status: An even more generous extra allowance, plus priority baggage handling upon arrival.

Cabin baggage:

The airline permits one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 7 kg (50 x 37 x 25 cm) in Economy Class, compared to two pieces with a combined weight of 15 kg in Business Class and First Class.

Privilege Club status: How many Qpoints and Avios can you earn?

Avios

On the Doha–London flight, the number of Avios awarded to passengers depends primarily on their travel class and Privilege Club status:

– Economy Class (discounted fare): Between 25% and 50% of the distance flown
– Economy Class (full fare): 100% of the distance flown
– Business Class: 150% of the distance flown
– First Class: 300% of the distance flown.

The Privilege Club status bonus

An Avuis bonus is added to this base rate, increasing with status:

Silver: +25% bonus Avios on flights marketed and operated by Qatar Airways.
Gold: +75% bonus Avios.
Platinum: +100% bonus Avios (meaning you double your earnings compared to the base rate).

Award Ticket Booking

Qatar Airways allows Privilege Club members to pay for tickets using Avios, the common currency also used by British Airways and several oneworld alliance partners. It is possible to book a ticket entirely with Avios for a flight marketed and operated by Qatar Airways, or to combine a partial payment in Avios with the remaining balance paid by credit card. However, standard award tickets remain subject to availability, with the option to use “Flexi Awards”, at a higher Avios cost, when standard inventory is exhausted.
