After eleven years of absence, Qatar Airways returns to Damascus

Qatar Airways is set to restart its direct service to Syria. In a statement, the Qatari national carrier announced the resumption of flights to the Middle Eastern country after suspending all its air links to Damascus airport in 2011 due to political conflicts.

Qatar Airways’ operations on the Doha-Damascus route will officially resume on January 7, 2025, with three weekly services.

The resumption of flights to Damascus meets strong demand. Round-trip fares on this route start at QAR 1,320 in Economy class and QAR 2,720 in First class.

By adding Damascus to its network, Qatar Airways now serves 170 destinations worldwide from its Doha-International hub.

Qatar Airways partners with Starlink

The Qatari airline now offers Starlink satellite connectivity on several of its international flights. Its passengers will be able to enjoy streaming entertainment programs at high speeds, send emails, etc., while traveling anywhere on the global network.
