Qatar Airways introduces Starlink WiFi on its flights
Qatar Airways, constantly seeking innovation to improve the experience of its passengers, has just taken a new step by introducing the high-speed Starlink WiFi service on its flights. This service, developed by the company of visionary entrepreneur Elon Musk, was tested for the first time by passengers on the flight between Doha and London, aboard a Boeing 777.
A successful first
Travelers on this inaugural flight had the opportunity to experience unprecedented internet connectivity at an altitude of 35,000, promising browsing, downloading and streaming speeds comparable to those of terrestrial broadband connections.
Gradual expansion of the service
Qatar Airways does not intend to stop there. Starlink’s WiFi service will be expanded to twelve more Boeing 777s by 2025. In addition, the airline plans to install this innovative service on its Airbus A350 aircraft during the peak season next year, with the goal of having all aircraft in its fleet equipped with Starlink by the end of next year.
