Codeshare: Qatar Airways strengthens its partnership with Kenya Airways

Qatar Airways and Kenya Airways have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a codeshare on new routes between the two countries.

For Qatar’s national airline, this agreement will allow it to add a third route on the Doha-Nairobi route.

For its part, the East African country’s airline will strengthen its service between Mombasa and Doha starting next winter.

The codeshare partnership will offer customers of both operators the simplicity of purchasing connecting flights in a single booking, and a seamless experience in ticketing, check-in, boarding, and baggage tracking throughout the journey.

According to Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Group CEO of Qatar Airways, “We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with Kenya Airways, allowing our customers to benefit from increased choice and flexibility, and easy connections between different cities in both countries.”

For his part, Allan Kilavuka, CEO of Kenya Airways, said, “This signing is particularly important for Kenya Airways. Qatar Airways is the largest airline in the Middle East, so we are excited about the prospects offered by the agreement. This will be an important step in our efforts to strengthen Kenya Airways’ presence in the Qatari and Middle Eastern markets,” he added.
