Doha Hamad Airport sees dynamic growth in 2024
During the first quarter of 2024, Doha Hamad Airport demonstrated robust growth, recording a significant 25% increase in passenger traffic compared to the same period last year. This growth is also evident in the number of aircraft movements, with a notable increase of 19%.
The cargo sector was not left out, posting a 12% increase.
Passenger traffic was particularly dynamic on routes to the Middle East, with a spectacular increase of 45.3%. This growth was mainly attributable to the resumption of air services to key Gulf countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait.
The increase in passenger traffic is not limited to the Middle East; routes to Europe also recorded a significant increase of 32.8%. Similarly, connections with Asia-Pacific saw a 20.9% increase, thanks to the opening of new routes to destinations such as Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.
